Who Thought Up This Poolstudents Idea, Anyway?

Ok, we haven’t been doing much here for two months? We’re suffering from Volunteer Burnout, Or What’sthepoint-itis, and/or What-Were-We-Thinking-Syndrome.

But after pondering PoolStudents’ future we have reached a tentative fine, probably, on continuing in at least the short term.

We couldn’t do this without Abie Padilla who does the endless web updating. And Melinda’s design stuff. And the people who have volunteered to commentate or make a few videos.

So we’ve agreed, we’ll stagger on into the new year. The good news is we have stuff. New videos, new matches, some nice pool stories. I’ve got a lot of material for the blog. I’ve been to the Shane Van Boening/Francisco Bustamante match in Las Vegas. Going to the Bar Table Championships in Reno and have made a lot of contacts in the bizarro world of pool. Of course that’s the easy part.

In today’s Youtube world we’ve found that videos we’ve linked to yesterday may not still be there tomorrow. So we have a lot of dead videos to swap out or update.

We added some nice training videos From pool pro Max Eberle. He shows you how to run out in all the games. That’s on the Pool Lessons page.

We’re about to add some cue making videos done by Justin Collette. We’ve got new commentated matches on the way. And I’ve run into a slew of cool pool people stories that I’m working on.

I’ve even just posted a note from a reader claiming he has the answer to the puzzle that is the pool term “Jam Up.”

So there you have it. Our plan is to gear up and get updated with new material as fast as we can. Any thoughts or input or outright complaints are welcome and you can be sure that we’ll treat them with the respect that only a pool player can give them.
